Learning To Become Human Again

We are told that we are immortal; we are told that we are beings of infinite potential; that fear is completely unnatural to the human species.

Like many of you, most of my life as a human, felt bewildering. Not a lot of human behaviour makes much sense. In fact it seems insane. There seems a lot of exploitation, war, starvation on an abundant planet, illness and unhappiness. Sometimes being human seems a very unpleasant experience.

How do we make sense of our immortality and infinite potential when fear, as unnatural as it may be, is so much a part of our experience in so many, many ways?

According to the elders of this planet, it is time we learned to become human again. We are not meant to live in low vibrational environments. Think of how humans once lived on earth, integrated and attuned to nature and the cosmos. Think of the Garden of Eden, Atlantis and Lemuria. That which we know of such times and places, reflects our natural vibrational environment. Certainly the shift, that so many traditions speak of, promises such a possibility and return.

Finding my way in what felt like a frightening world, lead me to the heart and love's powerful alchemy. I remember how reluctant I was to put the words "stop and drop" into my book, because of their simplicity. But after twenty five years, I find these three small words contain the whole universe.

To quote from the book, "By moving from your head to your heart, you heal your past and create your future. You move into the intelligence of the heart - the wisdom that enables your fullest potential and greatest happiness. Let the language of your mind be your second language. Let the language of your heart be your first. This is the language of silence. It is still, and yet it moves the whole universe." In our heart is our remembrance and our future.

Once upon a time, we lived in our heart. Then something frightened us and we left our heart to live from our brain. This was our fall from grace, from flow, from the garden of Eden. Now is the call to return; to return to a consciousness of love, unity, oneness - that magical feeling of deep connection with all there is. Fully present in this body, being the body, brings the luminous experience of the One body - earth, galaxy, the entire universe and even beyond. Know this, beyond understanding, and with awe for this incredible world.

We leave for Peru very shortly. An adventure, our intention is to explore this incredible world, learning to become human again.

Stargates - Journeys In Your Multidimensional Self

With the enormous shifts in consciousness, how many of you are feeling like a child on it first day at school - big excitement along with very real fears. We are very excited about these changes but there is no doubt how testing these times are as well.
For each of us, there are different challenges, but the common quest is to heal thy self. In the past, we went to someone else for healing interventions. Today, consciousness reflects Oneness. The 'other' we are accustomed to turning to is now realised to be our Self. This is not to say that we don't go to a practitioner or professional - of course we do but we own the responsibility for the healing, whether the healing is in the form of our bodies, our finances, our relationships, or fulfilling our purpose.
To know thy Self is to heal thy Self. Who am I? Answering this perennial question opens us to a limitless dimension beyond who we think we are. Beyond our egoic understanding, there is a  vast field of knowing that includes many aspects of our Self - our indigenous self, our extraterrestrial self and our galactic self, to name a few. In order to know thy Self in these terms, we need to 'see' past the self that we think we are.
Our journey to Peru, both for those travelling with us physically and those travelling virtually, is a request and summons to our multidimensional Self. Actually, there are doorways or apertures in time and space all around us, through which we can experience the multiverse. Some are tangible like Stonehenge. Others are found in the intangible realms of our minds. Whether tangible or not, to be activated most require the intuitive intelligence of the heart. In other words, they cannot be entered without the energetic 'password' that comes with the frequency of love.
Commonly referred to as stargates, accessing these portals impacts and adds to a new awareness of our Self. As zany as this may sound, this new awareness is still very much in the context of this particular life and its realities. We don't suddenly go off on Dr Who-like adventures meeting wildly improbable creatures and situations. On the contrary, life appears the same but with an otherworldly overtone that is just so exciting. Clarity comes around how to make a living. New ways of communicating with your partner's children come easily. What you plan to study becomes obvious. How you play, look after your body or what friendships you keep active, are reevaluated. The way you see and experience your world opens up and becomes rich with information, messages and insight. The way you feel becomes more relaxed, balanced and harmonious. Naturally, you seem to connect to the right person and find the right place. Instead of struggling with your daily schedule, you cruise with it even if that means nothing that you "should" have done happens. Stopping, and sleeping, however unheard of or frowned up becomes completely OK and the most significant thing you could do in this moment.
To open these doorways is simple but requires full presence and attention. Here is a YouTube clip guiding you in the steps I like to follow.

Sacred Mystery of Love

My quest to make meditation an integral aspect of our daily lives is stronger today than ever before. Along with a sitting meditation practice, I encourage you to live each moment of your life with meditative awareness, what I call heart awareness. If we want to ascend to the consciousness of a new earth, we must transform all fear into the resonance of love. This is not an abstract spiritual practice separate from the activities of our busy lives but a necessary and vital focus to heal the daily stresses, strains and dis-eases - and to grow into this new consciousness. Our attitude to every moment is recorded in the energy field of our bodies and the universe. Through heart-centred living we evolve it all in love.

Meditation techniques grew out of ancient wisdom, and are evolving, as we are.Through the inner work of meditation, mystics of all the great traditions discovered what science is only now confirming. As we lost our practice of inner work, so we lost our sense of the sacred mysteries of life. With the introduction of meditation as an integral part of live, so we can once again access this universal realm of consciousness where we experience our true nature and inherent Oneness.

In recent years, meditation has been used for stress management, and love has been recognised for its health benefits. Research shows heart intelligence brings, not only greater wellbeing, but greater intuition, insight and creativity. In other words, science is beginning to place the heart at the heart of physical, mental and emotional health. Ancient traditions have always known the heart is the key. I love these words from modern-day Sufi mystic, Kabir Helminski, "The heart is an intelligence beyond intellect, a knowing that operates at a subconscious level, the only human faculty expansive enough to embrace the infinite qualities of the universe. Intellect can take us so far; it can think about faith, hope and love for instance, but it cannot entirely experience these qualities. This is the function of the heart."

Embracing Our Essence.

Hi EveryOne,

Do you notice how I start this communication, this connecting, with 'Hi EveryOne'?

Each of you is a unique and individual self, manifest as a perfect expression of Oneness. So, there is the tantalising contradiction of EveryOne. We understand that there is only One and today it is often referred to as Oneness which has birthed Oneness blessings, Oneness universities and so many other Oneness expressions - and, all of this with a very rapid acceleration in the past few years.

This apparent contradiction of EveryOne is the mystery behind individuation and essence. The oneness that we are is our essence, and the process of individuation is the sense of a separate self. This sense of a separate self, the ego is a part of our development and is integral to our healthy and functional development. Our birth and childhood experiences contribute to how this sense of self emerges and, as we well know, this is often in a very fragmented and distorted way. Far from our individual self manifesting as a perfect expression of Oneness, our essence is overlooked, hidden and forgotten. We are lost in a sense of self reflecting inadequacy, self-doubt and shame.

For those of you who have worked with me in individual and group work, you will know that a very significant part of this is about discovering that our sense of self is only ever a projection, and that who we truly are is a wonderment beyond any language we can ever give it. However, using language we call this spirit, essence, consciousness, love, God, source and so many other words to describe the indescribable. But just because it cannot be described does not mean it has no relevance in our lives. Indeed, it is most relevant because it is what is most real, most authentic, most intelligent and most powerful. Beyond our limiting projections of selfhood, we find our true Self where we know ourselves in Oneness. We connect and relate to others in an entirely different way - a way founded on our authentic Self. Quite naturally, our empathy and ability to care for ourselves and others becomes one and the same thing. Embracing others is all about embracing ourselves. And embracing ourselves is all about knowing who we truly are, rather than believing the projections of who we think we are.

What Is Our Humanity?

Earlier this morning I was saying to a dear friend, " I long to simplify my life and yet it seems to get more and more complicated". Many of you have heard me going on about my email inbox. No sooner have I cleared it out and it is swamped again - a little like the way the lawn grows in summer - no sooner finished, and it needs mowing again! As with the lawn, I have to keep in mind its intrinsic blessing. So often we overlook the blessings and just feel overwhelmed and inundated.

We understand that all pathways have obstacles, but we struggle, not flow, on our journey. Everyday we hear of dreams lost, loneliness in a teeming world, passions no longer pursued. We hear of life as a deadline, life feeling out of control, and life as "just too hard". We hear of unhappiness and a loss of zest for life.

We also hear of great shifts happening in ways that have not happened before: a documentary called, "Go back to where you came from", investigating prejudice and ignorance, AND opening hearts; an enormous groundswell against nuclear power as our source of energy;  a politician talking about a global parliament where, "this 'people's assembly' would be based on one person, one vote, one value."

Yet, look at the comments in response to these words - "A utopian fantasy", and "It's harmless for people to advocate it. But it won't happen in the life time of a baby born today who lives for 80 years.'' There are many hilarious examples of hopelessly inaccurate predictions said with just such conviction and certainty. One of my favourites is, "It will be years - not in my time - before a woman will become Prime Minister."  Guess who said that? Margaret Thatcher.

They may say that it is harmless for people to advocate utopia but it is undoubtedly harmful for people to advocate cynicism. To ridicule dreams and inspiration is to obliterate our humanity. We hide our selves and our vulnerabilities which makes a mockery of our humanity. I write in my book Love's Alchemy, "The vulnerability of my body is endlessly vulnerable. The kaleidoscope of my emotions may mock certainty with doubt and fear, and yet, beyond all that, I know with absolute certainty that all is well. The sentiment of me and my story is undone, revealing the pure force that I am; that is all there is; that is love."

What is our humanity? To meet deadlines, expectations and goals. To bypass our dreams. To fortify our isolation through invulnerability. Do we really care for ourselves and others, our children, colleagues and neighbours?. Do we put our joy and happiness ahead of what we "should" be doing? Do we care before we critisise? Do we flow with our day, rather than struggle with how we think it should be unfolding?

Don't be afraid of life. Be afraid of missing out on love - for live and love are one and the same thing.

The Heart Is The Portal

What is the way to spiritual intelligence?

We know that if we live our lives from egoic mind, we are living our lives confined within a very small box. We also know how controlling the egoic mind can be, not stopping for a moment. That is the power of its vicelike grip.  Our minds are conditioned to think in terms of  difficulty, fabricating obstacles out of our fear.

The obstacles are of the mind itself. Ideas of what is lacking and what is needed, worrying about situations and their outcomes, seeing situations as problems that need to be solved, presuming something is wrong, perceiving in shoulds and should nots. The relentless hold of the mind, with all its apparently complicated and difficult issues, is the blockade to freedom. Stop the mind and the blockade is dismantled.

"How?", I hear you ask. "How do I awaken my spiritual intelligence, my heart intelligence?"If I may answer with a quote from the Taittiriya Upanishad, one of our most ancient and sacred texts, "Practice of meditation is its heart."

These few words say it so simply, and so much more. Through meditation we still the mind. With a still mind, quite naturally we are able to access our heart intelligence, our intuition, insight and other psychic abilities. They become an inevitable and natural byproduct of our spiritual practice. Interestingly, if we work at psychic abilities for their own sake, this is not only counterproductive but can also be the long way round and very arduous.

As the heart of spirituality, meditation brings a profound awareness of what life is all about. Love. For life is love in form.

When we arrive at a place where we are tired enough of life as a struggle, we will find the will to meditate and make life all about love. Your heart is the portal.
